Experience
With 14 years of diverse experience in the technology sector and a proven track record as a senior leader and change catalyst, Dean Prelazzi, founder and principal consultant at Management Adventures, has helped companies in Canada, Europe, and the U.S. (Silicon Valley) navigate through tumultuous growth phases in early-stage market situations. A sales and marketing specialist certified in the Pragmatic Marketing Framework, Dean challenges his colleagues to describe the business problems their products are solving and articulate laser-sharp value propositions that are focused on benefits rather than features to drive top-line growth.
A mentor with New Ventures BC and the Simon Fraser University BC Technology Mentorship Program, Dean earned an Executive MBA from the University of Ottawa (1997) specializing in sales and marketing strategies for complex technology solutions. Subsequently, his career background has been unique encompassing both line and management leadership positions in solution sales, marketing, product management, and strategy consulting across many technology sectors including telecommunications network and service management software, enterprise and business productivity applications, thin-client computing, data and transaction analysis, Internet performance management, Web 2.0 applications, debit & credit card processing, internal audit and corporate governance, and point of sale software and hardware.
Throughout his career, he has spearheaded the development of numerous product value propositions, guided new product launches, built sales and product management structures and directly led the solution sales efforts for pre-revenue companies and products including CrossKeys Systems Corporation (an affiliate company of Newbridge Networks), GraphOn Corporation, webHancer Inc., ACL Services, Goa Strategies, Autoprise Solutions, and Vivonet Canada. Dean is also an instructor in the Bachelor of Technology Management Program at the B.C. Institute of Technology teaching courses in marketing.
Dean is currently Vice President, Business Development, Idea & Market Validation Stages at the BC Innovation Council. Dean is also on the Advisory Board of BCIT's Commercialization Assistance Program and the Board of Directors of the Kids Up Front Foundation.

“Dean has the unique ability to ask the questions that everyone is thinking, but no one has the courage to ask. He quickly dissects everything from business proposals to product offerings by questioning both premises and conclusions. He's a process-based thinker who can architect structure for organizations.”
